With the BIG3, Sölden is the first and only ski resort in Austria to offer three lift-accessed summits above 3,000 metres. Nature Platform Schwarze Schneide
at the Rettenbach Glacier
The BIG3 Rally starts at the Giggijoch valley station and makes its way over the Giggijoch to the Rettenbach Glacier. Here you’ll find the first BIG3 spot: the Nature Platform Schwarze Schneide at over 3,340 metres above sea level. On a clear day, the view stretches over 100 km, from the Zugspitze in the north to the Dolomites in the south.

Next, the second BIG3 experience takes you to the Tiefenbach Glacier – specifically to the Panorama Rock Walk on the Tiefenbachkogl, at 3,250 metres above sea level. On the walkway, which extends 20 metres over the edge, the Wildspitze (Tyrol’s highest peak) seems within reach. From there, the route continues over the Rettenbach Glacier and the ski run down to the Gaislachkogl valley station.

As soon as you reach the bottom, it’s back up to the final BIG3 spot – Gaislachkogl, at 3,058 metres above sea level. In addition to the breathtaking views, it offers the ice Q gourmet restaurant with its iconic dome and the one-of-a-kind James Bond Experience 007 ELEMENTS. To finish, the route takes you back down via the Heidebahn to the Gaislachkogl valley station.
