Since 2019, we have been adding another wine to our collection: Together with the Gesellmann winery from Austria, we have created the Cuvée Prestige 2019 in celebration of our 50th anniversary – a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with an unique character.

Discovering the world of wine
Insights into the world of winemaking
Wine has always been of great importance at Hotel Das Central. Unique wine events are organised, top-class wine tastings are offered and a wine cellar with over 30,000 bottles is managed. Wine tours are organised to visit winegrowers and discover new wineries, always in search of inspiration for unique wine experiences.

This year’s wine trip to Spain took the group to the renowned Priorat and Montsant wine-growing regions. Special thanks goes to Beate Espinoza-Mayr from Bodega Rioja for her outstanding organisation and also to the wineries for their warm hospitality:
- CELLAR VALL LLACH
- SARA & RENÉ VITICULTORS
- MAS MARTINET
- CLOS MOGADOR
- BODEGA VENUS LA UNIVERSAL
- WINERIES LA CONRERIA
- ALTAVINS
- GIRÓ RIBOT
Journeys from the Past
For many years, host Angelika Falkner, hotel manager Michael Waschl and maître Martin Sperdin have been enthusiastically searching for exquisite wines and insider tips. The team has travelled to national and international winegrowers to see where the wine grows, how it is cultivated and what philosophy the individual winegrowers follow. These experiences are essential to understanding wine in all its depth and making the best selection for Hotel Das Central.
Long-term friendships
We have also been able to count many winegrowers among our close friends for a long time. They spend their holidays with us at the Weinhotel Central – and we also regularly visit them at their vineyards, from Burgenland to Burgundy.
